Wykesha Hayes – President and Founder of Keey 2 Kids
While working as a full time teacher, Wykesha Hayes, desired to impact the lives of her students and their families beyond what was typical in her role as a public educator. Her dream was to start a company that would bridge the entire community in such a way that the lives of youth would be tremendously enriched.
Wykesha graduated from the University of Houston in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and earned a Certification in Nonprofit Management. In August 2002, she began teaching in the Houston Independent School District and enrolled in the HISD alternative certification program through University of St. Thomas. As a certified 4- 8 generalist and Pk-12th grade special education teacher she engaged her students in learning by establishing relevant and interactive lessons. In 2006, she graduated from the University of Houston Clear with a Masters in Educational Administration and her Texas Principals Certification. As a current Doctoral student at Texas A&M University she is pursuing advanced studies and research opportunities while completing her degree in Curriculum & Instruction with a specialization in Urban Education. Today, she capitalizes on her experiences as an educator, parent advocate, conference planner, community activist, and speaker, while building an impressive reputation through her educational firm Keey 2 Kids and Keey 4 Kommunities, inc. a local non-profit agency.
